Always wanted a simple tool for joining filament pieces together - when the spool runs low or to join DIY multi color filaments (Easy Multi Color Filament).

I remixed LoboCNC's fine Filament Splicing Jig:

• Added compliant hinge to make it a single piece tool.
• Made guide taps bigger and internal.
• Added optional Clamp to keep Tool closed when splicing.
• Eliminate the need for Elephant Foot compensation.
• Small changes like more corner rounding.

The tool prints without support in both PLA and PETG (tested).

The light gray model is printed in Prusa Silver PLA and the dark Gray is printed in Prusament PETG.

Note: It is important that the two filament pieces are straight before they are spliced together with the soldering iron. If the filament pieces are curved, they will not be joined properly.

When filaments is joined, clean it using a sharp knife to make an even diameter.
