Like most cats, my cat really likes to play with a plastic spring. So I designed this easy to print tool to make as many springs as you want. Mainly because he keeps losing them under the fridge.

The spring is made from 1.75mm printing filament. It's a great way to use the end of a spool.

The following materials work great for making springs:

• PETG
• ABS
• ASA
• PLA+

More brittle materials like regular PLA tend to break when winding the spring.

Here how the sprint are made:

1 - Print the tooling

• 1x twist key-v4
• 1x main body-v3

2- Make some spring

Feed the tip of the filament in the hole at the end of the twist key.

Put the twist key in the main body and align the filament in the notch of the main body.

Turn the key clockwise until you reach the stop mark on the key.

Cut the filament.

Keep turning the key until the spring comes out at the end of the main body.

Cut the end of the spring to release it from the key.

Your cat now has a whole new spring!

You can stretch the spring to make it more bouncy.

Give it to your cat to play! 

But he's a cat, he'll probably ignore the toy and steal the tool to play ;)
